The tabard (from the French tabarde) was originally a humble outer garment of a sleeveless tunic form in the Middle Ages.

  • Material: 100% merino wool, USA

    100% organic cotton, fair trade from India

     

    Techniques used: nuno felting, hand spinning and hand dyeing  

     

    Dyes: natural indigo, black walnut, madder root, onion skins

     

    Difficulty level: beginner, but some hand sewing exerience is helpful.

     

    Size: The size is given by the GARMENT BUST SIZE, allow at least 3”-5" ease. For example: if your bust size is 50", a vest with 55" garment bust size will be a good fit for you.

    The lesser the ease, the more snug the vest will be.

    If you'd prefer a tighter fit then allow 3 inches of ease, if you'd like looser fit garments then allow 5 inches of ease.

     

    Available in one size:

    Garment bust size is 43 inches (M)

     

    Length:

    Garment length is 18 1/2 inches

     

    Small discrepancies may occur due to the felting process.

    All of my garments are carfully handcrafted, from felting and plant dyeing to the last stitches.  Handiwork takes time, and there is a limit to how many pieces I can make in a year.
